The Brainport Region Eindhoven, as a knowledge hub, holds great economic significance for the Netherlands. It accounts for a quarter of the country’s exports, a third of private investments in R&D, and half of all patents registered annually. Brainport aims to rank among the top 3 high-tech regions in Europe. The main route to achieving this goal, the A2, is located within the region itself—literally known as Brainport Avenue. The Brainport Avenue Quality Team, chaired by Maike van Stiphout, along with Mendel Robbers and Michel Heesen, advises the municipality of Eindhoven on both desired and undesired developments around Brainport Avenue.
Video: How do you advise on spatial quality? Consultant Maike van Stiphout from DS Landscape Architects and member of the Brainport Avenue Quality Team discusses the bike highway Slowlane in and around Eindhoven. The film was created by Serge Calon for the first Mooiwaarts Café on May 12, 2015, in Eindhoven.
